Police investigate two murder incidents

Selebi Phikwe police are investigating an incident in which a 45-year-old teacher was allegedly murdered by her boyfriend on Monday.
Selebi Phikwe Police Station Commander Supt Nicholas Kadiatla confirmed in an interview that the suspect, a 47-year-old man from Letlhakane was in police custody to help them with investigations.
Supt Kadiatla said preliminary investigations suggest that the deceased and the suspect were in a relationship and that they had a misunderstanding.
He said some teachers and the school’s security officers helped to arrest the suspect.
He urged residents to seek counselling or to engage their parents to help them resolve their issues.
Meanwhile, Selebi Phikwe police are also investigating another murder incident which occurred at Tapalaphala in which a 49-year-old man was found lying in a pool of blood. Supt Kadiatla said the incident was reported to them on Sept. 4 in the morning.
He said they managed to arrest a 24-year-old man to help them with investigations.
He said the deceased was certified dead on arrival at Bobonong Primary Hospital. Preliminary investigations suggest that the deceased and the suspect, who both hail from Sefhophe, had a misunderstanding.
Names of the deceased have been withheld to notify their next of kin first. ENDS
