President to attend annual Africa Down Under Conference

President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi left for Australia yesterday to attend the annual Africa Down Under (ADU) Conference.
A press statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that the conference will take place from Wednesday to Friday in Perth.
The ADU Conference is a leading forum for Australian-African business and government relations and is also the largest African-focused mining event held outside Africa, says the statement.
It further notes that President Masisi will give a keynote address at the official opening ceremony of the ADU Conference, prior to which conference, the President will have an opportunity to meet with the governor general of Australia in Canberra to discuss bilateral relations between the two countries.
He will also pay a courtesy call on the governor of Western Australia in Perth.
The release further states that while in Australia, Dr Masisi will also attend the Botswana-Australia Business Seminar, which will take place on the margins of the ADU Conference.
And as part of continued efforts to enhance cattle farming in Botswana, the President will tour the Glencoe Farm in Gingin.
President Dr Masisi is accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Lemogang Kwape, Minister of Trade and Industry Mr Mmusi Kgafela, Minister of Minerals and Energy Mr Lefoko Moagi as well as senior government officials.
The President and his delegation will return to Gaborone Saturday, says the statement. ends
