Police arrest taxi man for possession of government trophy

Masunga police are investigating a case in which a taxi driver was found in possession of a fresh Kudu carcass.
Assistant Superintendent Obakeng Manewe said the suspect was driving from Letsholathebe with four passengers.
He said two passengers ran away and the police managed to arrest the remaining three, who were yet to appear before court.
In another crime matter, ASP Manewe said police recorded a house break-in and theft in Mapoka on Saturday.
He said stolen items included a TV set, DVD player, speakers, assorted clothes, two burner gas stove, one comforter and assorted shoes all amounting to P12 000.
He said in another case at the same ward, they recorded a stolen TV set, a torch, a cellular phone, a handbag and a two-piece overall all amounting to over P5 000.
He said the incident occurred on Sunday.
Also in the same ward, there was a burglary and theft incident of a TV set, DSTV decoder and a comforter worth over P10 000.
In Tshesebe, Assistant Superintendent Motlamedi George said a mini bus driver was arrested along the Francistown-Tsamaya road for smuggling bags of raw tobacco leaves.
He said the driver was suspected to have used an un-gazetted point of entry.
Assistant Superintendent George said the tobacco was handed over to BURS for further action. Ends
