Kang Police are investigating a matter in which three unknown robbers raided Kang Choppies store at gun point and fled with undisclosed sum of money Sunday midnight.

In an interview, Kang Station Commander, Superintendent Elias Magosi, said the three robbers allegedly invaded the homes of store manager and his assistant, took them to the store where  they forced them to open the store.

The suspects are said to have seized all the proceeds collected over the weekend.

Supt Magosi further said the three robbers then fled the scene with a Choppies store motor vehicle that was later found abandoned in the forest behind Kang Lodge along the Trans Kalahari highway on Monday.

He said the two victims explained that of the three masked robbers, one spoke Setswana fluently while the other two had a South African Tswana accent.

However, he said that the two victims escaped without any injuries.

Supt Magosi pleaded with the public to assist with any information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects.

In addition, he encouraged business owners to make special arrangements with banking facilities to make cash drop-ins even after closing hours especially on weekends to avoid keeping large amounts of money that could attract thieves.

On other issues, Supt Magosi said the station was inundated with reports of the alleged Ecoplexus money scam, with 14 cases registred to date. He said one of the victims lost P33 000.

He called on members of the public to be vigilant and to avoid falling victim to online money making schemes.

He advised them to always conduct thorough researches on the companies to ensure that their operations were in compliance with the financial regulatory statutes. Ends
