Minister Morwaeng in DRC for disaster risk management meeting

Minister for State President Mr Kabo Morwaeng is in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo to attend an ordinary meeting of the committee of ministers responsible for disaster risk management.
According to a press statement from the ministry, the meeting commenced Tuesday and ends today.
It says the meeting follows the adoption by the SADC heads of state and government summit in August 2022 of a Memorandum of Agreement for the establishment of a SADC Humanitarian and Emergency Operations Centre.
The summit delegated ministers responsible for disaster risk management to sign the agreement which Botswana has not yet signed, says the release.
On the meeting’s agenda is an update on the implementation, including progress and status, of SADC summit decisions as well as those of relevant ministerial structures. Ends
