Sejelo police in Kanye are investigating a case in which a woman was killed by a perimeter wall pillar after it was hit by a truck in Nyorosi East.

In an interview on Tuesday, Sejelo Station Commander, Superintendent Mogomotsi Matlapeng explained that on May 21, a woman was opening the gate for a truck to get into the yard and the truck trailer hit a perimeter wall, which then fell on the woman.

He said the woman was rushed to the hospital, where she was certified dead.

Regarding recent home invasions in Kanye, Supt Matlapeng pointed out that their efforts had started paying off, noting that the attacks had decreased.

He said intensive police operations were ongoing and urged the public to continue with strategies such as Ntebele ke go lebele and to report any suspicious activities.

“It is vital for neighbours to know each other and their whereabouts, so that they keep an eye on each other’s properties,” he said. ENDS
