DRC president jets in tomorrow

Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) president, Mr Felix Tshisekedi will beginning tomorrow undertake a three-day state visit to Botswana at the invitation of President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi.
According to a Ministry of Foreign Affairs press release, Botswana and DRC have worked closely together and strengthened their friendship through common membership to regional and international organisations such as SADC and the African Union.
During the visit, Dr Masisi and his guest will explore potential areas for broadening the scope of cooperation in the areas of mining, energy, trade, agriculture and food production.
President Tshisekedi’s other engagements will include a tour of Jwaneng Mine, opening of the DRC chancery in Gaborone and participation in the Botswana-DRC Business Forum.
The DRC president, who is the current SADC chair, will also have an engagement with the organisation’s secretariat.
President Tshisekedi’s delegation will include cabinet ministers, senior officials and private sector representatives. Ends
