Molepolole Magistrate Court yesterday granted bail to Morongwa Lemogang, 22, who is accused of attempting to murder her infant.
Senior Magistrate Ms Keabetswe Majuta ordered the accused to bind herself with P1 000 and attend counseling sessions with the social welfare officer.
Appearing for her second mention, Lemogang was also ordered not to abscond court sessions and not to interfere with state investigations.
She is accused of attempting to murder her 6-7 months old child on April 12 at Tlapeng lands, Kweneng District by intentionally feeding the baby with infant formula laced with eraditick dip, a noxious substance unsafe for consumption.
The prosecutor, Inspector Thema Marumolo had earlier told the court that investigations were still ongoing and that recording of statements from two potential state witnesses was yet to be concluded.
He informed the court that the social welfare officer, Tshepo Lebala had submitted a report on the case which would help the court in making a decision.
Lemogang will appear again on June 15. Ends
