13 Apr 2023
The four accused persons in the murder of Kopong teacher Barulaganye Aston will appear again for mention on June 26.
The quartet: Oageng Moagi Letsholo (46), Leufty Gaolemogwe Kosie (47), Outlwile Aston (48) and Kebaleboge Ntsebe (42) appeared before Magistrate Segomotso Phetogo of Broadhurst’s Magistrate Court yesterday.
The magistrate acceded to the prosecution plea to have the case mention after two months.
When making the request, state prosecutor Ms Garetlwaelwe Mokhondo of the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) said they were still awaiting for the case file to be compiled and submitted to the DPP.
As such, she said the state wanted the next mention date to be after two months.
The quartet is charged with the gruesome murder of Ms Aston last year.
Of the four, Kosie, Aston and Ntsebe are on bail, while Letsholo had been remanded and is also serving sentence for a different offence.
Meanwhile, a Botswana Defence Force soldier Gaboutlwelwe Modirelabangwe (45) who is facing a single count of murder also appeared before the court for mention.
Modirelabagwe who had been admitted to bail, is alleged to have killed his wife Dorothy Modirelabangwe on January 13 at Glen Valley BDF camp.
Sub-inspector Kenneth Ramere told the court the case file would soon be handed over to the DPP.
Modirelabagwe will appear again for mention on April 27. ENDS
