Following a successful training programme on personality development last year, Everything is Possible Charity Organisation (EPCO) will on Friday hold an entrepreneurship and manufacturing training for youth in Maun.

EPCO is a Maun based NGO formed in 2012, with an aim to eliminate poverty through mind-set change programmes and life skills coaching for young people in Maun and surrounding villages.

In an interview, EPCO Director Mr Thatayaone Kenosi stated that the entrepreneurship training was powered by Troylin Vocational Institute at no cost and would run from April 17- 28 at Wenela VDC in Maun.

Mr Kenosi said it was fitting to hold a training programme that would empower youth on entrepreneurship and manufacturing skills as a continuation from last year’s personality development exercise.

He highlighted that the participants would be trained on meat processing, school shoe making, chicken feed making, perfume and detergents making, with an accredited certificate upon completion.

He said the programme aimed to cultivate mind-set change and bring about transformation in young people to venture into entrepreneurship.

“Every year we plan to help hundreds of young people who have lost hope because of their circumstances and we transform and build a brighter future with them,” he said.

He said EPCO had made strides in facilitating Maun youth aged 18-25 find employment after the personality development programme last year.

He stated that of the 75 youth who participated in the training, 40 found employment as security officers, petrol attendants, drivers, pre-school teachers and administration officers.

Mr Kenosi highlighted that the programme encompassed job interview techniques, public speaking, healthy living, coping with the changing environment and social ills and mind-set change.

He said many young people in Maun roamed the streets after failing their Junior Certificate or Secondary education exams, which resulted in them turning into drugs and crime.

Mr Kenosi said it was imperative for youth to be given a second chance to pursue their dreams hence EPCO supporting youth since 2012.

Furthermore, he said Wenela VDC had set aside a community hall for them to hold recreational programmes such as aerobics and yoga every Wednesday and Saturday. ENDS
