Molepolole police have mounted check points in their efforts to intensify search for illegal substances.

Station traffic officer, Assistant Superintendent Reuben Ramoleele said in an interview recently the main objective of the intensified searches was due to realisation that a lot of illegal substances including drugs and stolen cattle passed through some points like Gamodubu.

He said these illegal substances were mostly transported through public vehicles, hence the decision to stop every public vehicle such as mini buses to conduct searches.

He said on Easter eve, there was a lot of traffic coming from Gaborone to Molepolole.

However, he said he was happy that most people drove safely to their various destinations and no accident was recorded.

He urged both drivers and pedestrians to exercise extra caution during these holidays. Ends
