Mr Reneilwe ‘Manix’ Wright, who died aged 35, reportedly from heart complications, was laid to rest on Saturday in Maun.
Mourners came in numbers to bid farewell to the Maun born businessman who died February 26 while on a business errand in South Africa.
Speakers said Mr Wright lived and breathed business, an intelligent and visionary man determined to succeed and live a good life.
Manix’ good deeds will forever be remembered because of how he made others feel, a man with a good heart who desired to see others move forward in life.
His aunt, Ms Thando Segadimo said coming from an enterprising family, Manix learnt the ropes early on and by the time he was 18, he owned a car cleaning service business and a butchery he operated from the family business premises.
“Manix was a visionary man who did not fear taking risks, hence was successful. He was loving, caring and an inspiration to many young people and will be missed dearly,” stated Ms Segadimo.
His younger brother, Mr Tshepo Wright said Manix was charismatic, social and always ensured his family was comfortable.
“My brother was a true embodiment of courage and we were blessed to have had a man of his caliber whose vision shaped our family,” he added.
His cousin, Ms Nonny Wright said Manix was a source of warmth and peace to his family.
She said her cousin had a penchant for the finer things in life; cars, clothes and was also passionate about the entertainment industry.
We grew up listening to Hip Hop and Rap music, Ms Wright recalled.
A friend, Mr Reaboka Mbualwa said he introduced Manix to music, particularly Hip-Hop culture and was hooked from then on.
Hip-hop music, he said, taught them to hustle and Manix never looked back.
“He hustled to be an independent entrepreneur of note because he never gave up in life. He stood for what he believed in,” stated Mr Mbulawa, adding that Manix was generous and believed in sharing.
Mr Mbulawa said Manix contributed a lot to developing the entertainment sector in the district.
Manix owned an up market night club, Fresh Exclusive, which opened doors in 2012 and was a magnet for revellers who would go there and unwind after a hectic day.
His entrepreneur friends and those in the entertainment industry also expressed their heartfelt condolences.
Manix’s social club, Bokone Bophirima Social Club organised a memorial service to celebrate his life at the Village Church on Friday, which servicer, representative Mr Ogaufi Monamisi said was meant to appreciate his contribution to developing Maun.
Mr Monamisi said Manix was an epitome of perseverance who worked tirelessly to make his life what it was. He described him as a legend with unparalleled energy and devotion to developing his community.
Manix is survived by three sons and two brothers. Ends
