Letsholo pleads for courts intervention

28 Feb 2023

The Broadhurst Magistrate Court has requested for time to duly inform itself on how to assist murder accused person Oageng Letsholo.

Letsholo who is serving a 10-year jail term from grievous bodily harm and has been remanded for a pending murder charge has appealed to the court to intervene as prison authorities were not assisting him with his request to open a bank account and deposit his dues from sale of a motor vehicle.

Magistrate Jobbie Moilatshimo informed the accused person that the court would first inform itself on how to deal with his request and would deliver its ruling on the matter on March 13.

Letsholo informed the court that during his previous court appearance he had requested to be assisted to enable him to deposit  money from the sale of a motor vehicle.

He said prison officials had not heeded to his request.

“I sold my vehicle on November 17, 2022 but could not save the money at a bank since I do not have an account.

The bank had previously refused to assist with opening an account as they sought clarity on the source of the money.

I had since cleared that issue, therefore I had all the necessary documents to open a bank account,” said Letsholo.

The quartet of Letsholo, Leufty Kosie, Outlwile Aston and Kebaleboge Ntsebe are charged with the murder of Barulaganye Aston at Mogampane ward in Kopong on July 14.

Kosie, Aston and Ntsebe who are all out on bail will appear for mention on April 13. END
