Kenanao Ntsimane retires

A life in the newsroom, spanning 38 years came to an end on February 2 this year when veteran news writer and Tatediso ya Dikgang reporter  Ms Kenanao Ntsimane  retires.

When bidding colleagues farewell, Ms Ntsimane implored her colleagues to be resilient and remain resolute to the integrity of their work.

Ms Ntsimane joined the public service in 1985 as a Messenger at Southern District Council. Two years along the line, she got promoted to the position Switchboard Operator.

While traversing her journey in the public service, Ms Ntsimane later joined the then Department of Information and Broadcasting, where she joined the media fraternity as a Messenger – Reporter.

A committed and disciplined worker of Ms Tsimane’s caliber was elevated to the position of Technical Assistance, a position she held until her retirement.

She paid tribute to among other former Bureau Chiefs who manned the Southern Bureau and  were instrumental to her mentoring among them Mmolotsi Sekgoma, Epena Ngatangue, Lesego Agang, Kwapeng Modikwe, Ernest Gaelesiwe, Richmond Mahehe and Sereki Mpitse.

To her colleagues,  Ms Ntsimane has advised them that as jouornalists, they should be impartial in executing their duties.

As such, Ms Ntsimane has advised new comers and those still holding lower positions to maintain a high level of good work ethic as it may help them climb up the leader.

“My advice especially to those employed at a lower scale is for them to work hard and ensure that in the process they also further their studies so that they can be eligible to attain better post,” she said.

Ms Ntsimane also advised that high level of emotional intelligence was a key to leading successful life.

She further noted that time management and productivity are essential elements in leading a successful and fulfilling work life, and appealed to her fellow colleagues to stick to ethics.

Ms Ntsimane also emphasised on time management, respect, managing distractions and remaining focused.

However, she has noted that she will forever be grateful for the opportunity and the privilege she was given in working for the government media

“Through the profession, I have been able to sharpen not only my writing skills, but also my communications skill and voice modulation,” she said.

For his part, Southern Bureau Chief, Mr Emmanuel Tlale commended Ms Ntsimane for years of dedication commitment to the service as she has worked for government for a considerable time.

Mr Tlale stated that Ms Ntsimane’s footprints were evident. He said  she has led in social welfare committee. Through her guidance, Kanye office adopted a child in Ralekgetho, whom they cared for between 2015 and 2019.He said Ms Ntsimane was a distinguished employees, with a high sense of maturity, team work, and ethical conduct.

“We shall surely remember you for what you have done in positively shaping the work environment and each of us as individuals,” he concluded. ENDS
