Shakawe Police probe suicide

 Police in Shakawe are investigating an incident in which a 22-year-old man of Nyambane ward in Shakawe was found hanging from rafters of a house on Monday morning.

Speaking in interview, Shakawe Police Acting Station Commander Superintendent Ogolotse Tampa confirmed that police received a report on November 14 at around 10 am in the morning that a man was found hanging from the rafters of a house.

He said police rushed to the scene and that the man was taken to the hospital where he was certified dead upon arrival.

He said the body of the deceased was lying at one of the mortuaries in Shakawe. Supt Tampa said police investigations were ongoing to find the cause of suicide.

He however said the uncle to the deceased has informed the police that he found the deceased angry the night before at around 2100 when the uncle went to ask for a favor from him.

He explained that the uncle said when queried about his anger the deceased had alluded that his friends did not treat him well at an entertainment spot.

Meanwhile, Supt Tampa expressed concern about suicide cases in his policing area saying they recorded such cases a lot and that the current one was the sixth this year.  ENDS
