Shashe Mooke 13 to appear next month

The 13 Shashe Mooke residents facing three counts of inciting violence, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and malicious damage to property will appear again for mention on December 12.

In their brief appearance in court on November 11, the state prosecutor, Assistant Superintendent Lapologang Moatshe told the court that investigations on the matter were on-going and the investigating officer was yet to record two more statements from the witnesses.

He explained that it was difficult to trace one of the witnesses, who is the area councillor, due to the just-ended primary elections and explained that he was hopeful they would be able to locate him. He also informed the court that it appeared that the accused persons would be represented by Mr Themba Joina, whom he had the opportunity to talk to through the phone.

In a previous mention, Assistant Superintendent Moatshe informed the court that the victim of the riots sustained a fractured finger. The accused persons are Gabampone France (39), Kesebonye Gaotlhobogwe (28), Naledi Samuel (22), Annie Thabano (36), Molatlhegi Morotsi (28), Kefilwe Alfred (31), Onalenna Jeremane (29), Boitumelo Tsogang (31), Bareetseng Sebetlela (53), Gloria Daniel (33), Mpho Mokgweetsi (29), Galebotse Molatlhegi (24) and Kesegofetse Molatlhegi (22).
