Mbanderus upholding of culture admirable

Vice President Slumber Tsogwane has expressed admiration for the Mbanderu‘s ability to uphold their culture and customs.
Speaking in Toromoja Saturday during the funeral service for Kgosi Nguvauva Nguvauva’s wife, Ms Natalia Nguvauva, both of the Mbanderu tribe, he said while the tribe continued to uphold its culture, it nevertheless co-existed peacefully with the rest of Boteti tribes.
There were no significant cultural differences between the Mbanderu and other communities of Rakops as they have embraced each other, Mr Tsogwane said.
Addressing Kgosi Nguvauva, the vice president said all stood to learn from him in both times of distress and joy.
For his part, MP for Ngami, Mr Caterpillar Hikuama said despite being difficult to deal with, bereavement brought people together as it compelled them to congregate and show compassion.
Former MP for the constituency, Mr Thato Kwerepe said Kgosi Nguvauva had extended support to others when they were mourning.
He noted that Kgosi Nguvauva had implored the Mbanderu to preserve their culture to prevent if from fading away.
Mr Kwerepe urged the family to continue the legacy left by their matriarch.
Ms Nguvauva, 73, is survived by her husband, eight children, 18 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Ends
