Absa Bank Botswana remains dedicated to offering transformative power of financial services to help its clients and customers plan, dream and aspire to change their lives.

The bank’s retail director, Ms Valeta Mthimkhulu said this during the launch of a partnership with Southern Cross International Wealth (SCI Wealth) in Gaborone on Wednesday.

Ms Mthimkhulu said the partnership with SCI Wealth was part of the bank’s commitment to ensuring financial security and stability.

SCI Wealth specialises in helping professionals invest money, gain control of their finances, protect and grow personal wealth.

She explained that the partnership, which enhanced Absa Bank Botswana’s proposition, would also provide customers with access to services such as drafting of wills, establishment of trusts, holistic financial planning, retirement plan, debt management counseling and restructuring.

“Through the partnership, the bank will play an important role in the economic life of individuals, businesses and the nation hence helping them to create, grow and protect wealth. Therefore, the Fiduciary Services were created to act on customer’s behalf in estate planning and management through creation and administration of will and trusts,” Ms Mthimkhulu said.

She added that the service would be able to provide Batswana with direction and peace of mind as the bank continued to put long-term financial security first.

“Through our combined efforts, we hope that we can make a positive impact on the lives of Batswana.

We recognise that as a partner, it is our obligation and responsibility to assist you in caring for all assets that you acquire and expand along your financial journey,” she said.

Presenting SCI Wealth’s proposition, the company’s managing director, Mr James Fern also highlighted the importance of wealth protection, saying it was just as significant as its creation and would safeguard both the clients and their family’s futures.

“You may have relatives who are financially dependent on you.

Having this dual financial responsibility makes it all the more important to consider how loved ones would cope if you were to suffer an incapacitating illness or even die,” Mr Fern said.

He explained that SCI Wealth was founded in 2002 aiming to help clients build wealthy and secure futures through sensible and affordable financial strategies. EDNs
