Chief Magistrate Mareledi Dipate has on Tuesday further remanded in custody double murder accused, Lesego Dikgang as investigations of the murder incident are ongoing. 

The case will mention on October 25 for status hearing at the Village Magistrate Court in Gaborone.

Dikgang of Block 5 location in Gaborone is charged with the murder of two women, Janett Alfred and Osego Thipe at Gaborone West, Phase One on September 26.

The prosecutor, Sub Inspector Onkgopotse Gaotlolwe has informed court that investigations were ongoing and therefore the purpose of the mention was to extend the remand warrant of the accused person.

Sub Insp. Gaotlolwe said some of the witnesses were yet to record statements as they were still undergoing counselling, adding that the investigating team was also awaiting the forensic results.

Meanwhile, defence attorney, Mr Keorapele Sambere said since his client had been advised on the status of the investigations, he was therefore not against the prosecution’s request to extent Dikgang’s remand in custody. Ends
