Village Magistrate Court has remanded double murder accused person, Lesego Dikgang of Block 5 in Gaborone.

Dikgang (24) appeared before Chief Magistrate Mareledi Dipate on Wednesday charged with the September 26 murder of two women being Janett Alfred and Osego Thipe at Gaborone West Phase One.

The public prosecutor, Inspector Alexander Phale of Gaborone West Police Station had pleaded with the court to remand Dikgang as the matter is still fresh. Insp. Phale said investigations are still at an early stage, therefore, does not want chances of the accused person interfering with investigations.

“As for now, he is not a candidate for bail, investigations are still at an early stage, therefore I plead for his remand in custody,” said Insp. Phale.

The case will mention on October 11 for status hearing. Ends
