Shakawe police are investigating an incident in which a motionless body of a man was found by a passersby on the roadside in the wee hours of September 15.

District No. 17 Officer Commanding, Senior Superintendent Victor Nlebesi said the man aged about 30 was found lying in a pool of blood next to a popular depot in Shakawe by a passersby, who reported the matter to the police.

Senior Superintendent Nlebesi said the man was then taken to Shakawe Clinic, where he was certified dead.

He said the deceased was from Madubana ward in Ngarange and that his body was awaiting postmortem at Gumare Hospital to determine the cause of his death.

Senior Superintendent Nlebesi said that police investigations were at an infancy stage, but said that three people, two men and a woman were helping the police with investigations.

He appealed to the community of Shakawe and the public at large to help the police with information regarding what could have transpired.

He said the incident was the first of its kind in Shakawe, therefore  cautioned the residents against acts of violence. ENDS
