Master farmer Phirinyane dies

A renowned master farmer at Mosisedi farms, Southern part of Botswana, Mr John Phirinyane has died.
The 76 year-old died on Friday after being hospitalised for three weeks at Princess Marina Hospital in Gaborone, his brother Mr Keoagile Phirinyane told BOPA.
He said the deceased had not been well since February and was in and out of hospital.
Mr Phirinyane worked for South African mines before returning home to dedicate his life to farming.
His wish was for Botswana to be self reliant and an improved agricultural sector in the region, efforts that earned him a Presidential Certificate of Honour.
A memorial service will be held at his home in Kanye, on Friday at 2pm and a funeral service will follow on Saturday. BOPA
