Bakgatla ba Kgafela will join in celebrations of Heritage day on September 24 at Sefikile, South Africa in recognition of their tribal identity and culture.
Bakgatla deputy Chief, Kgosi Bana Sekai reminded the regiments during a kgotla meeting in Mochudi on Friday to start preparing for the Heritage day as their participation was expected at the festivities, which had been halted due to COVID-19.
Also at the meeting, Kgosi announced the return of Mohumagadi MmaMatshego and two of their children from South Africa who had joined Kgosi Kgafela II in South Africa for the past 10 years.
He advised the tribe to feel free to visit the queen at her house and further noted that Kgosi Kgafela has remained behind in South Africa with the eldest son who was pursuing his studies.
“MmaMatshego is here with Tebele and Sedibelo. They have gone to school as I speak,” he stated.
Kgosi Sekai also briefed the meeting that Kgosi Kgafela was working tirelessly to unite the Bakgatla of Mosetlha, MmaKau, Maratswane, Mocha and Kgafela to collaborate in community activities citing that preparations for installing the chief of Bakgatla ba Mosetlha were ongoing.
For their part, Bakgatla expressed happiness for the return of Mohumagadi MmaMatshego and wished her family good health. ENDS
