The role of public officers is to nurture and grow local Companies, hence they should take deliberate decisions in ensuring that local companies are empowered.

Boteti Sub-district deputy commissioner, Mr Ewetse Selelo said on Friday July 29 during the Sub-district development committee meeting that such could only be possible if government helped to grow and provide business to local companies.

He urged implementing departments to improve on monitoring and implored public officers to work as a team, failing which, nothing could be achieved.

Mr Selelo also encouraged head of departments to pledge resources whenever there was a district or national event, stating that the Reset Agenda applied to the private sector, parastatal organisations and government departments.

Government machineries, he said, were mainstreamed to align them with government programmes and rationalisation of departments was done with a view to providing services in an efficient and effective manner to avoid duplication of efforts by ministries or departments. Ends
