The 5th edition of the Dinokeng Business Expo billed for this weekend, promises entrepreneurs an opportunity to sell their products and services with the hope of expanding their current market share.
The expo under the theme: “Empowering Youth Entrepreneurs: An Epitome of Economic Advancement”, will be held at City Polar Stadium in Ramonaka.
It also strives to support youth entrepreneurs in all sectors of the economy.
Chairperson of the organising committee, Mr Anthony Rasetshwane said in an interview that the annual event provided a platform for networking and an opportunity to create business leads.
“This is a great opportunity for business owners to get exposure from well-established businesses and it is a space for exchanging ideas to leap frog small businesses to the next level,” he said
Mr Rasetshwane stated that the expo would recognise Kgatleng’s most successful youth entrepreneurs and also position the district as a best place to set up or invest in.
“This will in turn also contribute to the long term development of Kgatleng district’s economy and we hope to attract funding and investment opportunities for youth and all people in the district,” he stated.
Mr Rasetshwane said the Expo would see organisations such as the Botswana Motor Vehicle Accident Fund (MVA), Mascom, with other partners such as the Kgatleng Landboard, Botswana Police and District Commissioner’s office.
Aspiring business owners in the district are expected to showcase their products starting Friday July 29th and other activities for the day include business discussions, business clinic and talk shows.
On Saturday, following the official opening, there would be touring of stalls, meet and greet sessions, while awarding of best exhibitors would be in the afternoon, followed by a football game between Riverkings and Sopranos social clubs.
Guests expected to grace the event are Ministers or representatives of Trade and Industry, Youth, Gender, Sports and Culture, Entrepreneurship, Health, Agriculture, Botswana Stock Exchange, Chief Executive Officer, Mr Thapelo Tsheole, while the Managing Director of Crackit Botswana, Moemedi Senwelo would officiate at the event.
