The construction of the country’s newest mall, The Fields Mall is expected to be complete by end of the month, a departure from the initial April completion date.

The contractor, Caitec Botswana/Jumcorp joint venture - project manager, Mr Fulgence Ntukamazina said in an interview that construction was almost complete.

He attributed the delay to challenges posed by COVID-19 pandemic and price escalation in construction material.

The mall which seats on a 27 000 square metre piece of land and owned by Smart Partnership Enterprises will accommodate more than 70 an assortment of shops as food grocery stores, restuarants, banks and clothing among others, Mr Ntukamazina stated.

It will also open doors to new retail shops in Botswana such as Doppio Zero, Westpack and Ximi Vogue.

Beside its proximity to bus rank and being within CBD, a unique location for shoppers, the mall also offers a modern design aesthetic with ample underground and ground parking space as well as three entrances and exits to ease movement.

Efforts to solicit comments from the mall landlord concerning the official opening dates were unsuccessful. ENDS
