Police investigate Stanbic ATM bombing

Police in Mogoditshane are investigating an incident in which robbers made away with an undisclosed amount of cash after bombing a Stanbic Bank ATM in Metsimotlhabe early today.
Station Commander Superintendent Joubert Kome said in an interview that they received a report of a blast between 2:30 and 2:45a.m and upon arrival, the police realised that the ATM, placed just outside the entrance of Sefalana Shoppers, had been hit.
There was a shootout between suspects and the police, but the suspects managed to flee the scene.
By time of the interview, Superintendent Kome said no arrests had been made and he urged members of the community to assist with information that could lead to the arrest of the culprits. Ends
