Magistrate Court remands quartet in Kopong murder case

Four accused persons in the murder of Ms Barulaganye Auston have been remanded in custody on the basis that investigations in the matter are at an initial stage.
The quartet of Oageng Moagi Letsholo (45), Leufty Gaolemogwe Kosie (47), Outlwile Auston (48) and Kebaleboge Ntsebe (42) appeared for arraignment before Regional Magistrate, Mr Masilo Mathaka at Broadhurst Magistrate Court in Gaborone on Wednesday.
Pleading for their remand in custody, Ms Keletso Ookeditse of the Directorate on Public Prosecution (DPP) indicated that investigations were ongoing and were at an initial stage.
Ms Ookeditse said the investigating team was currently recording evidence from potential witnesses and that more exhibits were yet to be recovered. According to the charge sheet, they are accused of the gruesome murder of the deceased at Kopong’s Mogampane ward on July 14.
The quartet will be back in court for mention and status hearing on August 4. Ends
