Court remands 17-year-old murder accused

A 17-year-old boy of Lekgwapheng ward in Molepolole was recently arraigned before Magistrate Gaseitsiwe Tonoki for murder.
It is alleged that on May 26, the accused murdered 34-year-old man, Shuwe Mosekana, of Molepolole with a knife after a brawl at Borakalalo ward.
Prosecutor Thema Marumolo said investigations were still at initial stage hence he applied for the accused to be remanded in custody to protect him from the wrath of the public.
He also told the court that statements from possible witnesses had not been taken and post-mortem was yet to be conducted.
However, the suspect told court that he would conduct his defense. The accused will appear for mention on June 10. ENDS
