Davids murder trial resumes October

The trial of accused persons in the murder of former Mochudi East Member of Parliament, Mr Isaac Davids will continue in October. Justice Michael Leburu of Gaborone High Court announced Thursday at the case status hearing. Justice Leburu was earlier this month forced to postpone the trial after one of the defence attornies, Mr Opeyemi Ajayi was reported to have been involved in a car accident.
The accused persons are Jabula
ni Dube of Zimbabwe and Ramotswa native Mokgalemi Maleya. The duo, who were the legislator’s herd-boys are said to have murdered Mr Davids in Sorilatholo in January 14, 2018. They have both pleaded not guilty to the charge. The state, represented by Ms Thato Dibeela of Director of Public Prosecutions has already wrapped its case, the defense will take to the floor when the matter resumes. Dube is represented by Mr Bathusi Brown while Maleya is represented by Mr Ajayi. The trial continuation has been scheduled for October 24, 25, and 26 this year. Ends
