A threat to kill suspect, Mogorosi Korae, on Tuesday May 17 attacked Molepolole senior magistrate, Ms Kefilwe Resheng while conducting court proceedings.

The 34-year-old Korae was appearing for a single count of threat to kill. 

He allegedly flew from the dock to attack the senior magistrate before police could restrain him. Ms Resheng sustained minor injuries.

Molepolole Police Station Commander, Superintendent Benedict Matlho confirmed the incident, which  took place at around 10am.

Superintendent Matlho said Korae was allegedly complaining about who should preside over his case despite an explanation that the substantive magistrate was Ms Resheng. 

He noted that the accused had previously appeared before a different magistrate.

Mr Matlho said Korae would be brought back to court for an assault charge following completion of police investigations. Ends
