Ten-year-old Standard Three pupil of Maphorisa Primary School died on Saturday afternoon, after a Toyota Hilux vehicle he was travelling in overturned along Mosetse-Tutume road.

 In an interview with BOPA on Monday May 9 (yesterday), Dukwi Police Station Commander, Superintendent Howard Modo, said the vehicle, which had a trailer loaded with wood, overturned after a tyre burst.

 Superintendent Modo said the boy was certified dead at Tutume Primary Hospital.

He added that the other passengers being children aged 5, 6, 11 and 12, as well as the driver sustained serious injuries and were referred to Nyangabgwe Hospital in Francistown, while a 48-year-old man suffered minor injuries, was treated and discharged on the same day.

Superintendent Modo said all the victims were relatives from Magapatona ward in Tutume. 

He said investigations were still ongoing, while the next of kin had been notified. Ends
