Police in Dukwi are investigating an incident in which a 12- year -old boy on Monday hanged himself in bull rack at Sezi cattle post, about five kilometre away from Kutamogoree.

Dukwi Police Station Commander Superintendent Howard Modo said  yesterday that their preliminary investigation revealed that the boy, a standard seven student at Kutamogoree Primary school, left home in Kutamogoree to visit his father and uncle who were at the cattle post after the schools closed.

He further said on Sunday, the day before the incident, the boy’s  father went back to Kutamogoree leaving his son with the uncle.

The uncle, told police that he went to do a menial job at neighboring cattle post and only to find boy hanging from bull rack upon his arrival at around 11am.

He explained that next to the bull rack there was a 20 litres container which they suspected the boy used to climb the bull rack.

Superintendent Modo said investigations were still ongoing while the deceased body had been taken to Tutume hospital for postmortem.

At the same time, he said the deceased did not leave any note regarding what informed his decision to take his life. ENDS
