Main Mall cash heist investigations almost complete

Investigations into the Main Mall Security Systems cash on transit robbery case are nearing completion.
Sub-Inspector Modisaotsile Seratswe of Botswana Police Service said this on Wednesday when appearing before Extension II Magistrate, Ms Kamogelo Mmesi during mention of the sole surviving accused, Tsaone Tshegofatso Reboeleng.
“Investigations are on a path to completion and the case would be subsequently handed over to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP),” he told court.
The accused is currently on conditional bail and will appear again before Magistrate Mmesi on July 14 for status hearing.
The unemployed Reboeleng appeared without her attorney, Mr Kgosietsile Ngakaagae.
When asked by if there was anything she wanted to say to the court, Reboeleng who is alleged to have been the tenant of a Phase II house where robbery suspects were shot, said she had nothing to say.
She stand charged for a single count of armed robbery committed on February 23, 2022 at Main mall.
Reboeleng was arrested after being found in the company of the suspects who robbed Security Systems at Gaborone’s Main Mall and stole about P986 000.
The police trailed the alleged suspects to a certain house in Phase II, which subsequently resulted in a shootout, leading to the death of 10 suspects and injury to one police officer. ENDs
