Police are investigating a case in which two lifeless bodies were discovered in a house at Shashemooke on Tuesday.
Gerald Estate station commander, Superintendent Seanokeng Nkau said in an interview that her office received a call on Tuesday around 6pm from a female reporting that she had found the body of a female aged 20-25 years in a pool of blood inside the house.
She said upon arrival at the scene, police discovered another body of a male aged 30-35 years hanging from the rafters in the same house while the woma's body was lying on the floor.
As the case was still fresh, Supt Nkau said the bodies were at Nyangabwe Referral Hospital awaiting post-mortem.
She said no one had been helpful with information about the incident, urging community members to come forward and assist the police in their investigations.
“With the little information we managed to gather so far, we were able to estimate the time the event took place, which is on the same day the report was made,” she added.
Supt Nkau urged community members to rely on the police for such services as counselling and mediation as they were knowlegeable in issues regarding relationship problems.
She said police were there to assist not only after crime had occurred, but to also ensure that every member of the community was safe and enjoyed peace. Ends
