The church calls for mind Transformation

31 Mar 2022

The church has been called upon to embrace, engage and continue with its task of being an agent of transformation and change. Pastor Clement Nsimbi of Omega Fire Ministries, recently told BOPA in an interview that the church had to fulfil the gospel imperative of making the world a better place for all to live, justly, peacefully and harmony.

Pastor Nsimbi, affectionately known as Captain Nsimbi because he is also a pilot by profession, said the church filled a void only it could.

“If someone is sick, the hospital is the best place to seek medical attention, and same applies to the church. It is where people should go if they are in need of a ‘spiritual fix’”, he said.

He said in as much as people needed their physical, social and emotional needs to be met, there was need to have their spiritual needs met as well.

He admitted that there were a lot of challenges going on around the world: broken homes; rising unemployment; and crime, all of which called for the church take the lead in transforming, developing and changing society.

“Drastic times call for drastic measures,” he said.

Therefore, the church should stand up and preach love to all humans.

Pastor Nsimbi said the church should implement what it preaches and be available to meet people at their point of need.

“A message of hope is needed for those in despair”, he said, further stating that outreach services should gain momentum to reach people outside the walls of the church.

He said for that reason, the church should serve to the best of its ability, and provide counseling, participate in nation-building and structuring of society.

Pastor Nsimbi noted that today, more than ever, given the increase in poverty, violence and injustices in the world, sexual immorality and killings, and general ills in the society, the church must be involved in everyday matters with the intent to reform, revive and renew the minds.

He said the reformation embraced a number of quite distinct, yet overlapping, areas of human activity, including the reform of both morals and society, new approaches to political issues and shifts in economic thinking as well as spiritual awakening.

Pastor Nsimbi said the one thing that the church needed was to love. “”If love was expressed accordingly, it would diminish all the ills of the society,” he said.

He asked the church to operate in the fundamental basis aspect of love, saying the love would spread along in a long way, and fight the ills in the society.

“Sometimes one needs to be told that they are loved and that is all, they would then change their view about life;

They would think twice before committing suicide for example”, he said. Pastor Nsimbi also spoke against exalting negativity, saying the accusations and condemnations pierce through, “though not as deep as the Word of God”, but they can pierce into your subconscious mind.

He indicated that ones’ negative beliefs, thoughts, and decrees made, heard, read and or written manifested in reality.

Although not refuting that life could have challenges, he said challenges could be viewed as a stepping stone to great life.

Pastor Nsimbi also called on the church to pray for the country’s leaders, even when they were not in agreement with them.

The church, he said, had been placed in world to pray for them to be good leaders so there may be peace. Ends
