Botswana Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) new membership benefits card will help retain old members and attract new members to the organisation.

Speaking during the BIBF membership benefits card launch in Gaborone, the BIBF acting managing director, Mr Molaodi Menyatso said the initiative aimed at continuing the organisation’s legacy of offering its members a range of benefits at every stage of their career.

Mr Menyatso said last year, the institution embarked on developing a framework that would attract and retain BIBF members, thus the membership benefits card was created.

He stated that the benefits card included discounts on BIBF products and services, discounts through affinity programmes by various service providers and volunteer opportunities.

“BIBF has entered into agreements with the service providers for discounts to members on products and services in the optometrist, motor, aesthetics and medical sector,” he said.

For her part, Botswana Savings Bank (BSB) marketing and corporate affairs head, Ms Bomolemo Selaledi said BSB was proud to be associated with BIBF as it aimed to enhance skills in the banking industry.

Ms Selaledi said the benefits card was an exciting and pioneering initiative that would increase BIBF’s membership base and grow the institution as a whole.

“I can assure you that such an initiative would result in the increased visibility of BIBF across the country, as it would be supported by critical partners as well as skilled and trained workforce,” she said.

Ms Selaledi also said it was important for institutions to regularly reinvent their business processes to keep up with the latest trends.

She said not only skilled and trained employees were required for an organisation to be effective but innovative business practices as well.

“As such we appreciate the role that BIBF plays in producing industry experts who will not only take the banking industry forward but make a positive contribution to the economy of this country,” she said. ENDS
