First National Bank gives back to Ghanzi community

First National Bank Botswana (FNBB) has donated 30 computers to Ghanzi Senior Secondary School.
Handing over the donation on Friday, FNBB representative, Mr Tumelo Matshameko said giving back to and empowering communities was a priority.Mr Matshameko said Information Technology (IT) was a basic necessity and expressed the hope that the computers would improving the learners’ IT literacy and assist them to embrace the Fourth industrial revolution(4IR).
He said once empowered with IT skills, students would train or pass such knowledge to other members of community.
Ghanzi Chief Education Officer, Mr Baamogeleng Moteti said the donation was both an investment and encouragement to the education sector, adding that the gesture would help the country attain its aspirations of being a knowledge-based economy.
Mr Moteti said the computers would also help to improve IT and Mathematics as well as the school’s overall academic performance.
He therefore appealed to the beneficiaries to take good care of the donation, and thanked FNBB for heeding the government’s call of public, private partnership.
Councillor for Bosele/Molapo ward, Mr Cosmos Soke said the gesture was appropriate, as the country plans to leave no one behind. ENDS
