Phakalane Estates plans to build 84 residential units comprising 39 one-bedroomed units and 45 two-bedroomed units over eight separate blocks across 9 000 square metres of land.
Speaking at the ground breaking ceremony on Monday, Phakalane Estates Group Executive Officer, Mr Subramaniam Pharthiban said the new housing infrastructure would be called Bodulo apartments and would be built at Peto Estates within Phakalane Estates.
He said the apartments would kick-off the next chapter of the Phakalane story and that a number of stakeholders and partners had been engaged to construct and manage the project.
Stanbic Bank Botswana chief executive officer, Mr Chose Modise officially kicked-off the ground breaking for construction to commence.
Mr Pharthiban said construction would kick-off the next chapter of the Phakalane story.
He said the stakeholders included experienced local firms well-reputed in the construction industry such as Bohua Construction, LWA Architects, FTM Consultants, Valluvan, Akheel Jinabhai and Associates as well as Digital Surveys.
He added that selling agents included PAM Golding, Seeff Properties and Phakalane Properties.
“This is a great moment indeed on the back of our 30th anniversary as an organisation,”said Mr Pharthiban, adding that they also had plans to develop residential units.
He noted that in the past they had constructed and sold houses inside Phakalane Golf Estate and a couple of them outside the Golf Estate.
“We are pleased to once more work with so many brilliant stakeholders to bring this project to life. Bohua Construction, for example, has been in Botswana for the last 32 years and have done a few construction projects with us before,” he said.
He said collaboration, job creation and a shared vision were at the heart of what they were doing.
Bohua Construction Managing director, Mr Rong Yi said they would use high-quality materials and technology. He promised to complete the project well within the projected 14 months. ENDS
