Police investigate drowning incident

Police in Maun are investigating an incident in which a person was found drowned in the Thamalakane River on January 7.
Maun Police Station Commander Superintendent Chenamo Orateng said the body has been identified as that of a 46-year-old woman of New Town ward in Maun.
Supt Orateng said the police had earlier received a report that a body of a person was found floating in the Thamalakane River
He said the police managed to retrieve the body and that the woman was taken to Letsholathebe Memorial Hospital where she was certified dead.
Supt Orateng said investigations were ongoing to determine what could have led to the drowning incident. ENDS
