Court grants murder accused bail

Maun magistrate court has granted bail to two murder accused persons.
The duo, Lethogonolo Seloilwe, 61, and 65-year-old Kopano Moneto are accused of murdering Mpolokang Gaemedi on December 27 at Tshwaragano 1 Ranch at Haina Veldt farms near Makalamabedi.
Chief magistrate Thebeetsile Molalu granted the duo bail on conditions submitted by the state prosecution.
State prosecutor, Sergeant Mmoloki Bushati of Botswana Police Service stated that the duo were arraigned for the murder pending bail arguments.
He said the prosecution had decided that the two be granted conditional bail.
The two were granted bail on conditions that they should report to Maun Police Station every month end and that they should not interfere with investigations.
The other bail conditions were that the two should not commit any criminal offence while on bail and must mention to court as and when required.
Particulars of the offence are that the deceased and the two accused were entertaining themselves at Tshwaragano 1 Ranch on December 27 and that the deceased started harassing the accused persons.
The first accused person allegedly took a metal rod, hit the deceased on the forehead and the deceased allegedly fell unconscious.
The second accused then allegedly took an axe and allegedly chopped the deceased on the back of his head while unconscious.
The matter was reported to the police which led to the arrest of the accused persons while the deceased was taken to Letsholathebe Memorial Hospital where he was certified dead upon arrival. ENDS
