A highly productive society is what Botswana needs for the economy to recover from COVID-19 effects.
For that to happen, Botswana Productivity Centre (BNPC) general manager, Mr Teedzani Majaule said, all sectors of the economy: public service, corporate world and individual businesses should invest in a high performance culture.
Mr Majaule, who was speaking during a media brief on reviving the economy, in Gaborone on Tuesday, said improving and developing a standard of service delivery was necessary across all sectors because good labour management relations fostered equitable productivity gain.
“We need such mindset change to pave way for results,” he said, adding that good work ethics drove productivity which in turn impacted on the overall competitiveness of the national economy.
Mr Majaule also reckoned that rewarding employees was a performance stimulant.
BNPC marketing manager, Ms Matlho Kgosi said working from home that was introduced to curb the spread of COVID-19 in workplaces had ceased.
She emphasised good service delivery and warned that poor performance had consequences.
Ms Matlho said BNPC was available to provide technical support.
She said the centre provided solutions on accelerating productivity, enhancing competitiveness and increasing productivity. ENDS
