The four accused men in the P2.3m G4S armoured vehicle armed robbery that took place at Mogoditshane’s Turn Rite Mall last month, were Monday remanded to prison.
Broadhurst Chief Magistrate Ms Goabaone Rammapadi-Lesedi told the accused that she would hear their bail application during their next court appearance, when their attorney and the substantive prosecutor would have opportunity to make their submissions. Both were absent.
Appearing for mention on Tuesday, the four, Mothusi Alfred Motomela, Thapelo Lekobe who are Batswana, and two South Africa nationals Mzwandile Mazibuko and Ntholephi Elliot Ntshalintshali had told the Chief Magistrate that their intention was to apply for bail.
The four, together with another who was not before court are also said to have stolen an AK47 rifle and pistol type 54 belonging to Botswana Police Service and assaulted members of G4S Security and Botswana Police with the fire arms.
They were also found in procession of seventeen live rounds of an AK47 rifle.
Additionally, Mazibuko and Ntshalintshali are accused of entering the country illegally.
The matter will come again before court on the 29th of this month. Ends
