Men in custody for dagga possession

Nata police have arrested three men at Ngwasha gate found in possession of a green substance suspected to be dagga.
In an interview on Tuesday Nata Police Station Commander Superintendent Vincent Pitsietsile explained that the trio is a 50-year- old man from Molepolole, while the other two men aged 45 are from Basimane ward in Serowe and Kgosing ward in Mankgodi.
The three men were travelling to Kasane and were found in possession of 10 small packages weighing about 3.5 kilograms.
Supt Pitsietsile further said the suspects were travelling in two cars, a Golf and Toyota Corolla and are in police custody while investigations are ongoing.
Anyone found guilty of the offence of being found in possession of less than 60 grams of the cannabis, is liable to a fine of P20 000 or face imprisonment of not more than three years or both, he said.
He however said if a person is found with more than 60 grams, he or she is likely to face a fine of P500 000 or an imprisonment sentence not exceeding 10 years or both. ENDS
