Temo Thuo directory promotes interaction
17 Aug 2021
Shows and auction sales make a big part of the agricultural sector and without these, networking becomes difficult.
It is through such that the agricultural sector is able to thrive but COVID-19 has made it impossible for farmers to come together
Launching a Temo Thuo Digital Directory in Gaborone on Friday, founder, Ms Jerileigh Du Preez said with the disruption that resulted due to COVID-19, the directory would come in handy in connecting farmers.
She said it was created with farmers and agricultural businesses interests at heart.
A cost effective, eco-friendly and COVID-19 compliant agricultural networking platform, Ms Du Preez said Temo Thuo aimed to connect a large audience of farmers to the directory and digital advertising and lure the youth into agriculture and also assist small scale farmers in Botswana. Ms Du Preez who got her inspiration from engaging in livestock programmes, agricultural shows and animal food production explained that the directory consisted of three categories being the annual directory listing and the digital advertiser with subcategories; public and weekly advertisements.
She said the public could use the space to advertise their available or wanted agricultural services.
For her part, Ms Felicity Hunter of Techno Feeds said the service was timely and applauded the effort noting that the directory would promote dialogue and interaction to ensure farmers’ involvement. She also said the directory would educate and inform farmers because nowadays farming was more scientific and involved the use of technology. ends
