14 Oct 2013
Folklore artist, Kabo Leburu clearly had a good time at Oliver Mtukudzi’s show at BotswanaCraft over the weekend.
Leburu, who had just returned from touring Europe, said he was greatly impressed by Tuku’s performance. He sang to almost all of Mtukudzi’s songs and later hailed the jazz maestro as a great performer whose songs carry an important message.
“I was especially impressed with the way he plays his guitar. I love his shows and I can’t wait for his next performance,” he said. He said Tuku was a marvel to watch, especially because he kept the crowd entertained with sterling dance moves.
He said Tuku was exceptionally fit for a man his age, as he was able to maintain high energy levels throughout the three hour show. He said local artists could learn a lot from Tuku, especially his presentation, attitude, attire and choreography. Kabo was also impressed by jazz band Stream Jazz and up coming jazz sensation Mshilo. Ends
