 Police in Kanye are investigating a suicide incident that took place on May 6 at Sebonego ward.

Kanye police station commander, Superintendent Mmoloki Mogale told BOPA in an interview that a 41-year-old man of Sebego was found hanging from the rafters of his bedroom at his family home last Thursday morning.

He said the body was discovered by a family member, who then alerted the deceased’s mother, who had already left for work.

Supt. Mogale said the man was certified dead upon arrival at the Seventh Day Adventist Hospital. 

He said the family said there were no indications of a misunderstanding that could have led to the suicide, while the deceased did not leave a suicide note.

He urged people to be open about the challenges they face, to avoid hurting their loved ones by resorting to suicide. 

Supt Mogale also appealed to members of the public to share their problems with friends, family members, social workers or the police, as they might help.  ENDs
