Police in Tutume are investigating an incident in which a 24-year-old man committed suicide at his parents’ home on Monday night.
In an interview with Tutume Police Station Commander, Superintendent Jerry Halahala on Wednesday, he said the deceased used a power cable to hang himself on the rafters of the room he shared with his younger brothers.
Superintendent Halahala said the deceased’s siblings notified their parents about the incident when they woke up in the morning. He added that the parents notified the police.
He said the deceased was taken to Tutume Primary Hospital where he was certified dead upon arrival.
Furthermore, the station commander noted that the deceased did not leave any note of what might have caused him to take his life.
In addition, Superintendent Halahala said the parents had not observed any signs by the deceased that he might attempt to take his life.
The station commander advised the public to be open about any problems they might be experiencing and to seek help rather than taking a decision which would leave an everlasting impact on the lives of other family members. ends
