The Permanent Secretary to the President (PSP) has announced appointments, promotions and transfers of senior public officers which will effect from the date of assumption of duty. 

According to a press release issued yesterday, among those promoted are Ms Dianah Marathe who becomes Commissioner of Prisons, Mr Kealeboga Molelowatladi as the new Accountant General   and Mr Cornelius Lesola as Deputy Commissioner of Police – Crime Investigations.

At director level, Mr Joshua Moloi has been promoted to take the reins at Department of Crop Production.

A total of seven officers have been promoted to the position of Director-Procurement Oversight (Government Buyer) and transferred to different ministries.

They include Mr Moseki Leseane, transferred from Ministry of Infrastructure and Housing Development to Ministry of Finance and Economic Development, Ms Portia Nuku-Basaakane, from Ministry of Finance and Economic Development to  Ministry of Basic Education,  Mr Ofentse Julius, from Ministry of Presidential Affairs, Governance and Public Administration to the Ministry of Employment, Labour Productivity and Skills Development and Ms Olebogilwe Mothofela, from Ministry of Finance and Economic Development to Ministry of Infrastructure and Housing Development.

The others are Mr Tshekiso Mokgatle, transferred from Ministry of Tertiary Education, Research, Science and Technology to Ministry of Defence, Justice and Security, Ms Boikhutso Magalagala, from Ministry of Employment, Labour Productivity and Skills Development to the Ministry for Presidential Affairs, Governance and Public Administration, Ms Matilda Basinyi, from Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry to the Ministry of Nationality, Immigration and Gender Affairs.

The release says Brigadier Mokuedi Sianang has been seconded from the Botswana Defence Force to the Ministry of Defence, Justice and Security as secretary for defence while Ms Mmadima Nyathi has been appointed acting permanent secretary, corporate services in the Ministry of Agricultural Development and Food Security.

On transfers, the release indicates that Ms Lorato Plaatjie has been transferred from Ministry for Presidential Affairs, Governance and Public Administration to Ministry of International Affairs and Cooperation as deputy permanent secretary, corporate services, Ms Goitseone Madikwe from Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources Conservation and Tourism to Ministry of Employment, Labour Productivity and Skills Development also as deputy permanent secretary, corporate services.

Also transferred are Dr Obolokile Obakeng from  Ministry of Land Management, Water and Sanitation Services to Ministry of Transport and Communications as deputy permanent secretary (project management) and Mr Peter Choto from Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Sport and Culture Development to Ministry of Basic Education as director, regional operations, South East.

The release says Ms Dineo Phuti has been redeployed to National Archives and Records Services as director while Mr States Kabasia has been appointed to the same level in charge of technical services in the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development. Ends
