30 appear in connection with Lentsweletau riot

About 30 people appeared before Molepolole Magistrate on Wednesday on charges of causing malicious damage to property.
The accused, who were granted bail were recently arrested following an incident where property was damaged in Lentsweletau.
When granting the accused bail, Magistrate Refilwe Resheng said there was not enough evidence brought before court to deny them bail.
She said the evidence presented by the prosecution was not substantial for the court to remand the accused person in custody.
One of the accused persons, 38-year-old, Phenyo Mokokong also faces a second count of inciting violence.
The accused persons were granted bail of P2 500 each with a surety bonded to pay P3 000 in case the accused persons violate the bail conditions.
Some of the bail conditions were that the accused persons should not interfere with investigations and incite violence in Lentsweletau. They were also directed to attend all court sessions without fail.
The accused persons will appear for mention on April 23. ENDS
